Meet The Newest Kindle 6″ Wireless Reading Device

Burgundy Red Cover

Watch this great video to really see how much the Amazon Kindle can do!

The Amazon Kindle 6″ 3G Wireless Reader is a pretty sleek device for reading your favorite books, magazines, blogs and newspapers.  When I was first introduced to the Kindle, I thought it would be another useless device that would end up sitting in the closet or desk somewhere, but when I seen everything this device could do, I was amazed.                                                                                            Kindles Slim Design

The Kindle’s popularity is well deserved, this little unit can hold up to 1,500 books, is lightweight at 10.2 ounces and has what is referred to a “Paper-Like Display” with 16 levels of gray making photos and images look extremely sharp on the display screen, not to mention the clarity when reading words, which looks very similar to reading from the paper on a book or magazine, with absolutely no screen glare even in bright sunlight.

With a growing selection of now over 450,000 book titles, and best sellers at a fraction of the price of purchasing the physical book, the cost of the Kindle will pay for itself in a relatively short period of time for the avid bookworm like me.  The ability to download the first chapter of a book before you buy is another great feature, and downloading from the Kindle store is done with the touch of a button and takes about 60 seconds.  That saves me a 20 minute drive down to the bookstore.

The Text-to-Speech feature, which means that you can plug in your earphones and have your Kindle read to you, is also available on many of the books, newspapers, magazines and blogs.

Do your eyes get tired when you read making you strain to see the words, no problems here, Kindle has a selection of 6 different font sizes for you to choose from, so you can increase the font size to reduce those tired, strained eyes to finish reading your book.

One of the best features I like about the Kindle is that you don’t have any monthly fees, annual contracts or anything like that to suck money out of your pocket each month.  The Kindle has a 3G Modem that utilizes Amazon Whispernet which provides the wireless coverage through AT&T’s 3G high-speed data network in the U.S. and partner networks outside of the U.S. and you don’t have to try to find any Wi-Fi hot spots either.

The Kindle is truly a great piece of technology, which is why so many Kindle owner rate them so high, they love their Kindles.  Already own a Kindle? then spend the extra few bucks on a good cover to store it in, just as you would your pricey cell phone or iPhones.  If you should drop the Kindle or smash it, the screen can become cracked or broken.  I have heard this happening to a few people, and just like cell phones, replacements and repairs can be costly.

I’ve listened to many reasons why people love their Kindles, but one big reason that many like about them is due to the privacy it gives to the reader, many people want to be able to purchase and read books in public without anyone knowing what it is they are reading.  There are those among us who feel self-conscious about certain topics (like weight-loss) and would prefer not to be carrying around a small billboard to announce it to the world.  Years ago, you could use a paper book cover and no one would know what book you had, but the Kindle allows complete privacy so you can enjoy any topic, anytime, anywhere… pretty nice.

The Amazon Kindle is a great product, but is also a bit pricey. The Sony Reader is said to be the same as the Kindle, but with a smaller price tag.
