About
Hi, I’m Laura Jonaitis, the main writer behind TechieSnoop.com. My whole life, I’ve been insanely attracted to new technology. I could sit and look through magazines with all the latest ideas and products for hours. These were magazines that I had a hard time dropping into the trash can and when something really sparked my interests, I would dig up every bit of information I could get my hands on, because I needed to know if this was something I just couldn’t live without.
When Apple came out with the first Macintosh computers, I was one of the first to pick one up. When digital cameras were new on the market, I researched every aspect of the 5 digital cameras on the market at the time and purchased my first Sony digital camera. I was like a kid in a candy store. It was awesome and my interest in being an amateur photographer was greatly heightened. I now had immediate gratification without waiting for a roll of film to be developed. Once again, I was the first among family and friends to own a life changing piece of technology. I told everyone who would listen to me, that digital cameras were going to be so big, that they would change the world… and they did! I wish I had the money back then to buy stock in those companies developing them.
When you think about it, technology continues to change the way we live, think, work, play and communicate. The world today has grown by leaps and bounds since I was a kid growing up in the suburbs of Chicago. I remember when school would let out for the summer, on the days that I couldn’t see my friends, I would find myself bored to tears. My parents, hearing me complain, would solve the problem by having me mow the lawn or work around the house. We did have an advantage at my house that none of the other kids had; a swimming pool. But you had to find things to satisfy your interests on a daily basis. In today’s world, technology has supplied an avenue for both young and old alike to find new interests, keep in touch with loved ones, be creative, enjoy many conveniences in life and, has made our lives richer in so many ways, that it would fill up an entire book to account for them all.
Although I have many interests and things to keep me busy these days, I still get the kid in the candy store feeling whenever I see a product on the market that is outstanding. These types of products are usually life changing and don’t show up everyday, but there are a number of other technology products being developed all the time that are either taken for granted or are not as well known, but are definitely worth the mention.
Finding and digging up this information is fun and exciting. This is how I got the idea for TechieSnoop. I realized there are many others who have the same insane attraction to knowing what is out there and keeping up with the latest pieces of technology, cool gadgets or just interesting technological news.

P.S.S. The header on the TechieSnoop site, was from a photo shot by my friend with her Nikon digital camera, while we were at the San Diego Zoo. This bird appeared to be “Snooping” on us and the photo came out so well, that I just had to use it!
